Web sites and copied content

Posted by admin in Website

Very often beginner web developers create a site in which they copied content from another sites. They do because they have no time to write articles, or can not write them, but want to have a website. They think that this is not a problem, but actually it is a big problem.

This is a problem because of several things. The first is that the articles that are copied, are probably copyrighted. Authors who writed the articles or translated and paraphrased them, for sure will hate if someone copies them. Some tend to agree, but only if they are listed as an original source and a link is put to their site. In this way, they get one-way link, which helps them in SEO.

The second problem is also very important. It is a problem for someone who has copied the contents. When search engines detect duplicate content, they note the page as very minor and therefore do not appear to users on demand, except in the most extreme cases (when there is nothing else to show).

Eventually the site with copied content will receive very few visits from search engines.
