In this post I want to clarify something very important, namely the purpose of a website. Many people have no idea what would be the purpose of their site. If you do not know the purpose of your site, how will you know if it has achieved it?
Before deciding on making a site, you must clearly identify its objectives – the primary objective and secondary objectives (if any). Necessarily they are recorded somewhere in the form of paper or in electronic form. Very often the main purpose of a site is to promote an offline business and to bring more sales. Another goal may be to inform the audience on a given topic. A third objective could be to attract customers for online ordering of certain products or services.
Knowing the purpose of a site, we can think about what would be the target audience, and then how best can we reach it. Everyone perceives things differently and some words may be a very good way to attract someone, but also to repel another. That is why you must define your target audience and what is the best way to communicate with it through your site. Only that way your site has the chance to achieve its goals. The existence of a site without purpose or one that does not achieve it is completely pointless.
